He holds a B.A. at Clark University in Studio Art and Geography, earning Summa Cum Laude and High Honors, with focuses lying within printmaking and food & sustainability. In the fall of 2019, Zac studied a semester abroad at The Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy. Here, he was enrolled in a Food and Sustainability Studies Program. Paired with growing up on a regenerative farm and inn in Walpole, NH, Zac has naturally acquired interests in the environment and food. Zac’s work often takes a critical view and response to notions of the unconscious, the sublime, and the hyper-objectivity of the cosmos. Through explorations of the past, present, and future, these theories develop temporally while questioning the capability of the human memory. As a process based artist, he focuses on allowing media to inform what it requires from him and what methods shall come next. Zac mainly uses media such as drawing, photography, experimental painting, and installation, while printmaking tends to be his main medium of choice. With past projects like, "Memory's Dilemma" and "A Fixed Cosmic Potential," he seeks to encompass the sense of calmness contrasted with mystery and the unknown. As his practice has developed, Zac’s work has transitioned from being representational to fully embracing abstraction while exploring new avenues of making and thinking to broaden his view of materiality and playfulness. Recently, in the summer of 2021, Zac was the Gallery Assistant at rosyendpost Gallery, in Greenport, NY. Assiting the Gallery Director, Charles Dean, and owners, Gary Garrels and Richard Hoblock.
